Naporitan ナポリタン is a very popular dish in Japan. A spaghetti dish belonging to the Japanese cuisine called “Yoshoku“, a Western-inspired cuisine. This recipe is inspired, as you may have guessed, from Italy. Naporitan is simple to prepare and requires few ingredients.
Our tips for ingredients for the Naporitan recipe
- For the spaghetti, we recommend fresh pasta, ideally home-made. We make it with the Philips pasta machine, by the way, we also make excellent soba, udon and ramen with this machine.
- Ketchup of the Heinz brand. Indeed, the tomato sauce is replaced by ketchup, a common seasoning in Japan and of flavour known as “umami“.
- Garlic. Once crushed into a puree, it gives a spicy flavor to the dish.
