Welcome to Japan Taste!

Japan Taste is a website dedicated to the Japanese culinary art as well as Japanese culture.

The objective of the site is to share with you our interest in Japanese cuisine around regular news, feature articles, tips and Japanese recipes.
But first of all, let’s introduce ourselves briefly :

  • Sophie, passionate about Japan, travel, cooking, baking …
“My parents are of Chinese and Vietnamese descent and have been running a restaurant for a long time. Although retired, they still spend most of their time in the kitchen. So it was only natural that my senses and my enthusiasm for Asian cuisine developed. I find in Japanese cuisine the flavors of my childhood, a gustative and visual finesse that I appreciate enormously”.
  • François, passionate about Japan since he was a child…
“I remember reading and rereading my father’s great book on Japanese culture and martial arts and dreaming while looking at all these pictures. In fact, I started learning Japanese at the age of 7, a language that I continue to practice every day with pleasure. A big fan of nature, I love to take care of the gardens and plants that are there. I also have several Niwaki that I maintain on a daily basis. I also like to travel and immerse myself in the culture of the countries where I go even if Japan remains my favorite destination!

We are french and we have travelled a lot together, as well as through Europe, the United States, Asia and several islands. We like to taste foreign culinary specialties.

Japan, beyond the magnificent country that makes us dream on a daily basis, has particularly marked us in its approach to gastronomy because there is a whole art, a respect, a tradition, a philosophy in Japanese cuisine that has seduced us.

We will therefore give you through this site, impressions, opinions and tasting advices which obviously engage only us in all subjectivity because tastes and colors vary according to the sensitivity of each one.

Don’t hesitate to share and give your opinions on Japanese dishes, this site is made for that.

Finally, welcome to our Cuisine-Japan site and thank you for your interest in Japanese cuisine!

Sophie and François.
